Spill vase
Dillwyn & Co., Cambrian Pottery (1811 - 1817 and 1824 - 1850)
Spill-vase, earthenware, standing on a spreading pedestal foot, rounded, globular lower body, cylindrical neck, flaring to end in a wide mouth with everted lip rim; transfer printed with 'split' prints in blue; on one side an arrangement of shells within a scrolling floral cartouche, on the other side with a scrolling floral motif and on the interior with a repetition of the shell arrangement and a floral arrangement issuing from a scrolling perforated ribbon; with a heart and loop dentil border to outer lip rim.
