Pot-lid
Pot-lid, earthenware, circular shape with cylindrical flange and convex top; the upperside of the lid decorated with an underglaze polychrome transfer-print of 'The Seven Ages of Man', consisting of seven circular panels reserved against a puce diaper ground, showing from the top left to the bottom right a male figure in various stages of life from infancy through to old age, around the edge of the lid is the inscription "THE SEVEN AGES OF MAN / AS YOU LIKE IT ACT II SCENE VII", the whole of the print enclosed by a circular yellow band. The glaze crazed and wear to the flange.
