ECM: Llantwit Major; pillar (replica)
Cylindrical pillar with a vertical V-shaped groove along the whole of its length. Its top is fractured off and is missing; its foot is sharply splayed. The whole surface is decorated in low relief in four zones, the edges of the groove have plain bead mouldings, which are carried round horizontally to demarcate the zones, each of which is itself framed by similar moulding: 1. Regular double-beaded plaitwork (incomplete); 2. Double-beaded eight-strand plaitwork with horizontal and vertical breaks; 3. Double-beaded twelve-strand plaitwork with regular breaks, incorporating a free ring and; 4. Band of irregular double chevrons.

Notes: Original monument formerly located in the parish churchyard, where it was discovered (above), but is now located standing against the N. wall of the western nave, re-set inside.
