ECM: Margam; pillar cross head
Fragment of scuptured cross-head consisting of the hub and two adjacent arms linked by one arc of the ring, decorated on one face in low relief. The cross is of Celtic type, with small circular arm-pits, square arm ends, and triple-beaded wheel. The squared arms are edged with plain bead-moulding and filled with double-beaded six-strand plaitwork, devolving towards the centre into two-strand twists, which are linked round a plain central boss. Small circular inter-arm spaces. The arcs consist of a cable-twist between two plain mouldings.

Site Name: Margam, Neath Port Talbot
Notes: This monument was first recorded c. 1900 at Coedarhyd-y-glyn, St. George (ST 1045 7515), but is believed to have been moved to there from Margam, after the marriage of The Rev. J.
