Dillwyn & Co., Cambrian Pottery (1811 - 1817 and 1824 - 1850)
Soup plate, earthenware, dish-shaped with inset base, deeply curving sides and spreading rim, slightly raised edge to the well, eight notches and lobes to the rim; transfer-printed in blue with the 'Bridge at Locarno' pattern, a bridge crosses over a river with two cattle in the foreground and further cattle and human figures on the bridge, a tower stands beyond the bridge, background of trees, hills and distant buildings, wide border to the rim of interlacing vines, wheat and cherries, surmounted by a narrow border of overlapping circle shapes.
