Early Medieval pottery plate
Rigoir Form 4. Abraided base: Form D2, fragment of a plate or bowl, with a shallow groove marking a pseudo-footring. Faint traces of rouletted ornament inside the base. The fabric is rather paler than standard D ware, but this may be due to accidental refiring after the pot was broken. Traces of black wash preserved in the flat groove confirm the attribution of the fabric.
