Spill vase
Dillwyn & Co., Cambrian Pottery (1811 - 1817 and 1824 - 1850)
Spill-vase, earthenware, standing on a spreading pedestal foot, rounded, globular lower body, cylindrical neck, flaring to end in a wide mouth with everted lip rim; transfer printed with 'split' prints in underglaze red; on the lower body, two groupings of chinoiserie pavilions, on the upper body, an arrangement of shells within a floral cartouche and a floral motif within a scrolling ribbon, and on the interior two further groupings of chinoiserie pavilions; heart and loop dentil border to lip rim.
