Purse of Gold issued to David E. Williams
Brown leather "purse of gold" presented by the Blaenavon Colliery officials & workmen of Forge Slope Colliery to Mr David Evan Williams on attaining a commission as 2nd Lieutenant in Royal Engineers, April 22nd 1916. When issued the purse of gold would have contained about 35 gold sovereigns.
Wallet with flap at rear. Hallmarked silver plate with inscription attached to front.
