Dish, earthenware, oblong shape with eight sides, flat base with two vertical feet at one end, the other end swelling outwards, curving sides and spreading rim, the well moulded with incised lines resembling the veins on a leaf, one end of the well dipping downwards where the base swells out, a very slightly raised edge to the well, slightly waved rim; transfer-printed in blue with the 'Cows crossing a stream' pattern, in the foreground a male figure drives three cattle across a stream by the side of a bridge, in the background are farm-like buildings and trees, a wide border spreading up the sides of the well and onto the rim of flowers and foliage, a narrow hound's tooth border to the outer rim.
