Roman samian bowl
The ovolo is clear and neat, with a very large eight-pointed rosette tip to the tongue. Below is a narrow straight wreath of plain chevrons, with traces of a fringed leaf below in a leaf-scroll. The style is common Vespasianic Drag. 37s. The ovolo may well be the same as one from Verulamium which is attributed to Frontinus.
