Quilt
Wholecloth quilt, late 18th century. Supposedly from an unknown stately home in the Newcastle Emlyn area. Yellow silk cover made up of several pieces of silk (approximately 18). Backing of linen made up of seven pieces. Filling of wool fleece.
Complex quilting design with a central medallion. The medallion centre may have been influenced by the designs of imported Indian chinzes of this period, which were often printed with a large central medallion bordered with floral motifs.
