Plate, soft-paste porcelain, standing on a tapering foot-rim, curving sides and spreading rim, the edge of the rim turned upwards and lobed, the rim divided into four large and four small panels by vertical ridges running from the edge of thye well to the edge of the rim, the well moulded with an embossed wreath of flowers and foliage, the four larger panels to the rim moulded with embossed sprays of flowers and foliage; finely painted in polychrome enamels with to the centre of the well a butteryfly and a caterpillar, three small sprigs also to the well, the four smaller panels to the rim painted with sprays of flowers and foliage, a chocolate edge to the rim.
