Queen Alexandra Dock, Cardiff, negative
Visiting party inside the Polydrome warehouse at Queen Alexandra Dock, Cardiff.
The 'Polydrome' was a dome-shaped frameless structure (in this case 250 feet long x 120 feet wide x 60 feet high) fabricated from PVC reinforced with woven nylon and supported entirely by low pressure air pumped in by two electric fans (with a diesel generator in case of mains power failure). It was manufactured by Polydrome AB of Enkoping, Sweden and supplied by Youngman System Building of Crawley.
