Neolithic flint knife
An unfinished arrowhead or a bifacially flaked knife. It is made on a transverse shaped flint flake. The artefact has been heavily burnt, being crazed with fracture lines and with some thermal 'pot-lid' fracturing. The platform is partly absent, owing to a thermal 'pot-lid' type fracture. The surviving part of the platform has a small amount of the original cortex on it, what little is present suggests the original nodule was water-rolled. The retouch on the dorsal surface is moderately invasive and runs along one edge for about 21.7mm. The retouch on the ventral surface is along the opposite length, is marginal and is not continuous along the length.
