Watercolour painting
Pen and watercolour wash sketch 'Geraint', showing an intensive care nurse at the Princess of Wales Hospital, Bridgend.
"The painting is called Geraint. It's a pen & watercolour wash sketch that was made as part of my Arts Council of Wales funded project in 2020 for an Artist Residency at Carnegie House Arts Centre, Bridgend, called 'Who is Bridgend? Pwy yw Penybont?' The project's aim was to celebrate the everyday people who live and work in Bridgend. Due to covid, the project went online and this particular portrait formed part of my Portrait of the Week element, which took place throughout May 2020. I asked for nominations from people to draw someone who deserved extra recognition at that time. Geraint was nominated by his future mother in law as he was nursing in ICU at the Princess of Wales hospital" (Claire Hiett).
