Jar of pale red earthenware, standing on a rounded foot rim, ovoid body ending in a broad, flaring neck; the lower body with a 2.5cm/1in diam hole of regular appearance: two incised lines around the shoulders, small ridge to base of neck and ribbing to upper neck; part of upper neck broken away, resulting unglazed section incised with diagonal lines; exterior unglazed with some dark olive green glaze to upper portions; interior largely glazed with the same glaze.
