Responses to a questionnaire created by the National Museum in 1937 on Welsh folk culture by Llangollen County School. Includes pencil sketches of objects connected to the subject. The booklet also includes responses on pages 1-21 by Islwyn Ffowc Elis (17 November 1924 - 22 January 2004) who later became a Welsh writer and novelist.
Questionnaire on Welsh Folk Culture, 1937 Prepared by the Department of Folk Culture, National Museum of Wales, and published in 1937. The questionnaires were sent to parishes, schools and individuals as a way of collecting information about all aspects of Welsh folk culture. The questionnaire was divided into the following subject areas: domestic life, corporate life, cultural life, crafts and industries. The museum was keen to engage with the people of Wales and the questionnaire respondents to collect objects and stories as a basis for establishing the Welsh Folk Museum in 1948.
