Roman copper alloy Polden Hill brooch
Short side-wings with pierced disc terminals to support the axial bar. Vertical moulding at the end of the side-wing. The chord lug is cast solid with the bow and has a zoomorphic appearance because of the slightly up-curved tongue which projects from it. The bow kicks out sharply from the head and tapers to a narrow foot. The bow is ornamented by a triangle formed by a lightly indented line.
