Jug, earthenware, standing on a straight-sided foot-rim, bulbous body composed of six convex panels, sloping inwards at the shoulder to a slightly concave neck which flares out to the mouth, lobed lip-rim, elongated beak spout, the neck beneath the spout and handle moulded with an embossed shell pattern enclosed by embossed scrolls, the same embossed pattern continues in a band around the top of the neck linking the two moulded panels, high loop handle with raised foliate moulded thumb-spur, foliate moulding to the upper and lower terminals; transfer-printed in black with to the exterior body, exterior and interior neck, interior spout and the handle, scattered groups of flowers, foliage, shells and scrolls, the spout chipped, a speckled brown discolouration to the glaze in places.
