Seal impression: Shrewsbury
Within the battlemented city wall protected by four round towers, with three gateways leading to bridges over the river Severn, a representation of the town with a large cruciform church with tall spire topped by a cross. The portcullis in the central gate is closed, half-closed in the side-gates. Above the central gateway, a shield: three lions passant guardant in pale, ENGLAND. To either side of the same gateway, a shield: dext. A cross of St George between four sprigs; sin. three leopards’ heads, two and one, SHREWSBURY TOWN.
