Roman iron sword
Sword or dagger tip. This weapon blade is either the damaged remnant of a sword or spearhead. The maximum width is comparable with that of a large Roman spearhead (cf. Manning 1985a, V139). Similarly the possibility exists that this may be a broken sword tip, the V-shaped profile is particularly reminiscent of a sword of Mainz type (Ulbert 1969).
