Cup, hard-paste porcelain, inset base, cylindrical sides, square handle with foliate moulding at the terminals; to the front of the exterior body an octagonal panel painted with a classical scene with a putto and a seated female figure with holding a shield and spear and with a lute and globe to one side of her, the panel enclosed by a gilt border, to the other sode of the body to either side of the handle sprays of leaves in gilt, gilt bands around the foot-rim and lip-rim, the handle picked out in gilt.
