Roman iron knife
A single edged iron blade with a short neck between the tang and the blade. The blade has been broken off at the top which makes reconstructing its original shape difficult, but it appears to have been a small and relatively fine knife. That the knife was well made is suggested by the short neck at the top of the tang which has been added to provide a better grip between the metal and the bone, or wooden handle.
