Llanelly Pottery Company Ltd, South Wales Pottery (1912 - 1923)
ROBERTS, Sarah Jane (Sarah Jane Roberts, commonly known as 'Auntie Sal', was the chief painter of cockerel plates at the Llanelli pottery. Most of her family also worked at the pottery.)
Plate, earthenware, circular shape with rounded foot-rim, deep rounded sides and flaring rim, the rim beaded; roughly painted in red, blue, yellow and green with to the centre og the well a cockerel standing on a patch of yellow ground among flowers and scattered leaves, sponge painted border to the sides of the well of stylized blue floral motifs between two blue bands.
