Welsh costume shawl
Shawl made from white tabby-woven synthetic fabric trimmed with white, floral, machine-made, synthetic lace ruff along lower edge.
Made from double-layer of fabric: along the bottom edge, both fabrics were stitched together sandwiching the lace in-between; the two layers were then turned inside-out, hiding the row of stitches and the seam allowances on the inside; the shawl was then finished off with a double-turn-back along its upper edge; all machine stitched using white thread.
