The bishop standing on a diminutive corbel; in pontificals with his epicopal ring visible on his gloved right hand; usual posture. In field, to either side of the bishop's head, dext. R. and sin. II. indicating that he was the second bishop of that Christian name to occupy the see. In the lower field in two niches, dext. St.Cuthbert holding St.Oswald's head; sin. St.Oswald holding a sceptre.
