Mourning brooch
•Object is a silver alloy convex brooch which is oval shaped and has an image of sheep beneath trees mounted onto a precious stone believed to be opal. This scene is framed by the silver broach beneath glass. The brooch is constructed using the sepia hair painting technique of hair-work which was a fashionable in the later half of the 19th century [MDS]
