Cup of soft-paste porcelain, standing on a slightly flaring foot rim, rounded sides, loop handle; painted with boys playing a game of cricket; to the right of the handle, a boy holding a bat over his shoulder, another tossing a ball into the air; in the centre three smaller figures, two fielding, one bowling at a boy in the foreground, to the left of the handle, batting in front of two stumps with a boy keeping wicket behind; the whole scene taking part against a grassy landscape, enclosed by foliage at either side.
