Spill vase
Dillwyn & Co., Cambrian Pottery (1811 - 1817 and 1824 - 1850)
Spill-vase, earthenware, standing on a spreading pedestal foot, rounded, globular lower body, cylindrical neck, flaring to end in a wide mouth with everted lip rim; transfer printed with 'split' prints in purple; on the lower body, two large striped shells surrounded by scrolling foliage, on the upper section, flowers issuing from a scrolling, banded ribbon and an arrangement of shells within a foliate and floral cartouche, on the interior with a large corrugated shell and an arrangement of flowers issuing from an ornate c-scroll; heart and loop dentil border to lip rim.
