North Sands type built November 1943 as FORT LA PRAIRIE by United Shipyards Ltd., Montreal (engine by Dominion, for MoWT, managed by Common Bros.,Newcastle (Dalhousie S.S. Co., from 1946). 1950 – Sold to Halifax Overseas Freighters, London, and renamed ELM HILL, managed by Counties Ship Management Co. 1964 – Sold to Antarctica (Bermuda) Shipping Co. Ltd., Hamilton, Bermuda. She was sold to Japanese shipbreakers, arriving at Hirao, Japan on 22 March 1967. (see also P02.2002) (mariners_list)
