Doll
'French Fashion Doll' or 'Parisienne', about 1870. Doll with bisque head and upper torso with swivel neck. Flesh tint with delicate features. Entire body of leather. Fixed glass eyes. The doll has blond hair with a pink velvet ribbon in it. The doll has many pins attaching various elements together, including the hair.
Clothing: Pink dress covered with brown lace. The pink fabric on the dress has silk warps and cotton wefts. She has pearl and wire ear rings, a pink velvet ribbon around her neck with white lace trimming on the neck opening of the dress and at the cuffs. Widths of separate brown lace (different tone of brown) are stitched to the other brown lace. The dress is lined with a white muslin. Maroon wool knitted socks, leather ankle boots with three spherical metal buttons, metal buckle and brown silk ribbon trimming and little black heels sit on each foot. There is a white cotton petticoat with two horizontal stitched pleats. The doll has lace trimmed muslin pantaloons. There is a pink bow on the back of the skirt, widths of pink fabric delineating, outline parts of the dress.
