Early Iron Age bronze socketed axe
Small mouth and face fragment. Pronounced bi-conical collar with feint lower mouth moulding. No ribs, pellets or roundels visible. Curved face edges. The surviving width below the mouth moulding is not much less than the original total width, since there is curving at both edges. The mouth top is curved in plan. (Suggests Sompting Type but could be Armorican or South-Eastern Type socketed axe).
