Goffering iron
A goffering iron with a rounded head on a steel, square section stem, with notched turned decoration near the head and twisted at extreme end to form a looped handle with a scroll decoration.
Use in St Mellons, near Cardiff. It would have been heated in the fire and inserted into a goffering iron stand, also known as an Italian (or tally iron) to create frills and ruffles.
