Jug and cover
Jug, hard-paste porcelain, standing on a slighly flaring cylindrical foot-rim, pear-shaped body with cylindrical neck, plain triangular beak spout, scrolled loop handle with a moulded leaf to the shoulder, round domed cover with flat collar-like rim, to the top of the cover a nipple-topped finial; finely painted in polychrome enamels with to the front of exterior body of the jug a kingfisher and a jay perched on spreading branches, two further smaller birds perched on branches to the top of the cover, around the rest of the exteiror body of the jug floral sprays and sprigs in puce, around the exterior lip-rim of the jug and the rim of the cover a border of scrolled lines and leaf sprigs in puce with gilt dots, a gilt edge to the lip-rim of the jug and the rim of the cover, puce scrolls and gilt decoration to the underside of the spout, scrolls and a running leafy stem in puce with further gilt decoration to the handle, the leaf to the shoulder of the handle painted green, the top of the finial picked out in gilt. The jug broken and repaired.
