Dillwyn & Co., Cambrian Pottery (1811 - 1817 and 1824 - 1850)
Soup plate, earthenware, dish-shaped with inset base, deep curving sides and spreading rim, slightly raised edge to the well, eight very shallow notches and lobes to the rim; transfer-printed in sepia with vignettes of shells, flowers and leaves, one group of shells surrounded by flowers and foliage in the centre of the well, while another identical group of shells and three groups of flowers and foliage spread up the sides of the well and along the rim, border to the outer rim of tiny heart shapes on a sepia ground with a wavy line below them.
