Pot-lid
Pot-lid, earthenware, circular shape with cylindrical flange and convex top; the upperside of the lid decorated with an underglaze polychrome transfer-print of 'Xmas Eve', showing a winter scene with figures playing musical instruments in front of a building with an inn sign on which is printed the inscription "MISTLETOE / Bough / ET / W. Merry / Lic.d to Sell / Wines & Spirits", to the bottom of the scene is a diamond shape printed with the inscription "IV / P / K Rd. n / S", around the bottom of the scene is printed the inscription "XMAS EVE", the print enclosed by a narrow circular fancy border with brown lines on a yellow ground. The glaze slightly crazed.
