Dillwyn & Co., Cambrian Pottery (1811 - 1817 and 1824 - 1850)
Jug, large, globular form, earthenware, incised ring to centre of base, standing on a narrow rounded foot rim, globular body, broad collar neck, wide spout with everted lip, plain loop handle; richly painted on either side with bouquets of mixed flowers, including daffodils, roses, a passion flower, tulips, blue convolvuli, forget-me-nots and sweet williams; inscribed in gilt beneath the spout, D. & C. EVANS/SEPTr. 17th/1826, surrounded by gilt sprigs, chocolate banding to foot rim, lip rim and handle with stylised foliate motif in chocolate to upper handle.
