Early Iron Age bronze vessel
Simple vessel rim with torn circular rivet hole. Sheet thickens towards rim, whilst the rim has slightly rounded edges. The vessel form appears convex, though not markedly globular. This rim rules out Atlantic Class A and B cauldrons and the bucket forms of the later Bronze Age. The absence of any evidence for an iron rim or rim band makes it most likely that this is a handled bowl or cauldron of Early Iron Age date.
