Jug, pale cream-coloured earthenware with a soft bluish-green tinge to the glaze, bulbous body flaring out to the foot-rim and lip-rim, plain beak spout, plain loop handle; transfer-printed in grey with to one side of the exterior body an oval panel containing an interior scene with a group of figures crowded around a slumped figure, around the bottom of the panel is the inscription "THE DEATH OF MR PERCEVAL", the top of the panel cut off, to the other side an oval panel containing a rustic scene with the figure of a young girl carrying a bundle of firewood, around the bottom of the panel is printed the inscription "COTTAGE GIRL". The lip-rim chipped.
