Strainer
Strainer, earthenware, round-ended oblong shape, standing on a tapering foot-rim curving inwards, the top of the strainer flat and pierced with numerous perforated holes with a larger circular hole to the centre; transfer-printed in blue with the 'Damask border' pattern, to the top of the strainer a scene showing two figures standing in an Italianate landscape with trees, an aquaduct, a distant village and mountains, to the rim a wide border with a watered blue ground between a band of small scrolls and a band of foliate scrolls.
