Slate (information sheet)
An information sheet about slate. The sheet provides information about how slate was created (geologically), and the production of slate in Wales. The information sheet was owned by Mr Owen William Humphreys, who worked as a steward at Dinorwig Quarry between 1946 and 1969. Following the quarry closure in 1969, the Gilfach Ddu workshops were saved, and became the ‘North Wales Quarrying Museum’ (now known as the National Slate Museum). Mr Owen William Humphreys worked at the museum for some time, and probably picked up the information sheet during his time as an employee of the museum.
