Ice pail, soft paste porcelain, wheel thrown, conventional straight sided form curving to an applied waisted base, moulded and applied handles below the rim each in the form of scrolls supporting a shell. Body painted in enamels with naturalistic groups and sprays of fruit and flowers: a larger group centrally placed on each side, one including grapes, roses and plums, the other grapes, roses, plums and berries; small groups under handles, one including pears and apples and flowers, the other pears gooseberries and flowers; single scattered sprays including acorns, roses and berries. Deep wave band around rim of turquoise enamel, each wave containing an gilded cornucopia of flowers and leaves, further gilding in bands around foot, on moulded handles and at rim.
