W.R. Smith & Sons, movements of steamers, card
Black print on back of blank postcard. Card headed W.R. Smith & Sons relating to the movement of the following steamers - ATLANTIC CITY, BRADFORD CITY, CORNISH CITY, DEVON CITY, EASTERN CITY and LEEDS CITY. Dated 31 May, 1913.
S.S. CORNISH CITY. Built 1906 and captured and scuttled during the First World War.
Built 1927 by William Gray for the St. Just Steamship Co Ltd., managed by Wm. Reardon Smith, Cardiff. 1928 – Transferred to the Reardon Smith Line (same name). 1951 – Sold to Iino Kaiun Kaisha / Iino Shoji KK., Tokyo, Japan, renamed TERUSHIMA MARU, but ran aground in River Hooghly at Budge Budge near Calcutta on 20th August 1952, and became wrecked.
