Dillwyn & Co., Cambrian Pottery (1811 - 1817 and 1824 - 1850)
Jug, earthenware, slightly inset base, bulbous body sloping inward at the shoulder, wide shovel-shaped spout, curving over and slightly everted at the lip, plain high loop handle; transfer-printed in blue with the 'Women with baskets' pattern, two female figures carry baskets in the foreground, while besides them a male figure dips his foot into a pond, in the background is a rural landscape with trees, a mill and a church in the distance, wide border of flowers and scrollijng foliage on a blue ground and surmounted by a narrow blue band issuing pendant triangle shapes to the interior and exterior lip-rim and spout, broad diaper border ot the handle.
