Roman samian bowl
A considerable portion of a very small bowl. The footring is low, and the total height of the vessel is not more than about 7cm. In place of the ovolo, there is a series of small plain rings, as on S&S 1958, pl. 45: 521, 522, 524, 525 and 527. The design is a single zone of panels without a basal wreath. Panels with a plain double medallion alternate with those containing a large festoon with a beaded or corded outer border. The medallion contains a hare, O.2057, and the festoon a small lion, O.1404. There are rosettes, Rogers C 280 and corner leaves with a corded bud, Roger G 172. The style is that of Donnaucus, X-13.
Dr 37 is a hemispherical decorated bowl
