Seal impression: Stamford
Witihn a niche formed by a crocketted and pinnacled canopy borne upon two side-pillars enriched with cinquefoil roses, the Blessed Virgin crowned and seated, supporting her Child with her left arm, and holding an apple in her right hand. In base, under an ogival arch carved with cinquefoils with a trefoiled opening in each spandril, a burgess (perhaps the mayor) kneeling to dexter in supplication. Field diapered lozengy, a cinquefoil in each space and seprating the words of the legend. Beyond the seal proper, the outline and press-marks of the matrix. Beaded borders.
