Early Medieval lead spindle whorl
Biconical lead spindle whorl with large central perforation. Both surfaces are decorated with raised cast radiating lines.
Viking Age lead spindle whorl from Llanbedr-goch, Anglesey, north Wales. 850-950 CE. The same technology was used to spin wool for thousands of years.
