Fudge wheel
A small tool used om shoes, boots and clogs to mark leather resembling stitching, to tighten stitches on the welt, or to give them a neat and regular appearance. Also used as a guide for inserting the awl for stitching. It comprises a small serrated metal steel wheel which turns on a steel shank, and a wooden handle. The fudge wheel was heated for use, but not so hot as to damage the leather.
