Peg doll representing St Nicholas. With painted features, wooden torso, arms and legs. Wearing bishop's vestments, with mitre on ead and crook in hand. Originally with beard (hair glued to piece of kid and attached to chin - now worn away). From Belgium. Originally owned by folklorist and collector, Edward Lovett.
