Seal impression: Royal
Obverse. The same style as the ‘Bretigny’ seal, but with important differences. The quintuple canopy is much more elaborate, the outermost canopies having an upper storey. In canopy above central niche, a half-length figure of Christ; in immediate lateral canopies, dext. the Virgin and Child (Wyon says a king with sceptre), sin. an archbishop. The shields bear quarterly FRANCE (Modern) and ENGLAND. Instead of birds on trees above the shields, a bunch of roses. The watchmen stand with maces under smaller canopies. The outer border of the legend is enriched with small roses.
